Grass stains in fabric

Now that Spring is here, so is outdoor play. Removing grass stains can be tricky, as the stains are made up of chlorophyll, xanthophylls, and carotenoids from the grass and other organic matter. With the right approach, you can lift them effectively. Start by rinsing the stained area with cold water to flush out as much of the stain as possible. Next, apply a stain remover or a mixture of liquid laundry detergent and a bit of white vinegar directly onto the stain, gently scrubbing it in with a soft brush or your fingers. Let it sit for about 15–30 minutes before washing in the hottest water safe for the fabric. Avoid using hot water at the start, as it can set the stain. If the stain remains after washing, repeat the process before drying, as heat can make the stain permanent.
