Do the drawers in your dresser smell funky? Empty the offending drawers and place a small bowl of baking soda in each drawer. Close and wait a week for the soda to absorb smoke, pet, food or mothball smells.  If there’s still an aroma, you may have a mold or mildew problem. Mix a half cup of borax with a gallon of water and wipe down all the exposed wooden surfaces, then air dry, preferably in the sun.  Or seal the interior with shellac. It’s fast drying and seals stains and smells.
